Examples Of Our Work

 This image illustrates replica railings, Natural Stone and Brickwork at St. Marys Church, Stoke Newington - parts of which date back to Norman times. These works were carried out for Engish Heritage and L.B. Hackney.  This project won a Civic Trust prize for the authenticity of the workmanship.

 

 Hammered Iron Automatic gates and pillars at Harley House, London, NW1, A Grade 2 Mansion Block. The design is based on photographs of the original wrought work circa 1880 .

Cast Iron Balustrades at The Boltons, London, SW10, a Grade II listed private dwelling. The 1850's pattern is amended to conform with current Building Regulations.  

This shows the bottom flight of a wooden staircase with cast iron balusters; including swept wooden handrail, at Hyde Park Gate, London W8. The property was one of Winston Churchill's London homes and was photographed during refurbishment using circa 1830 balusters cast from our original moulds.

  

Replica cast iron railings and Portland lime stone, at a Grade II listed building in Lord North Street London SW1. The photographs show the site before works and after renovation.

 

 Iron Railings and Stone Pillars at Clapham Church, London for the London Borough Of Wandsworth and The Heritage Lottery Fund.

This image shows cast iron balustrades and column supports during the installation of a 30 ft balcony in Cottesmore Gardens London W8, a Grade II private dwelling. The setting out was drawn up by the client's designer and the patterns amended to conform with the current Building Regulations. 

 This image shows the end section of the 30 ft bacony and staircase. The cast iron floor plates and matching stairtreads are from an original Victorian mould and the handrail is unpolished cast bronze.

 These are replica polished bronze lamp standard  installed and wired for electricity to a Grade II listed building in Mayfair, London W1. The lamps were made by our copper smith and the glass specially cast from our templates.

 

  Renovation and part renewal of the cast iron balustrade to the principal stairs at 50, St James Street, London, SW1. A Grade I listed building.

 

Portland stone steps during installation at a listed property in Bow, London E3. The original railings were stripped out, shot blasted, renovated and re-fixed with lead caulkings into the new stone work.

 

 Verandahs, Balustrades and railings at Cadogan Square, London SW1 a terrace of Grade II buildings, for Cadogan Estates.

 

 Cast Iron glazed main doors (shown open) and stair balustrades at Les Ambassadeurs club at Hyde Park, London SW1.  

 

 Clapton Square, London E8. Part renovation and part renewal of railings and stonework to not only the largest but one of the oldest squares in London, for The London Borough of Hackney, the Heritage Lottery Fund and English Herritage.

 

A short set of cast iron stairs with a three tread right turn to save space in the garden.

 

Circa 1780 replica cast iron railings and portland stone plinths at East India Docks London E14 for London Docklands Authority. 

Circa 1750 replacement cast iron railings fixed with lead to the original stone plinths at The Fan Museum, Greenwich a Grade II* listed building for English Heritage and The London Borough of Greenwich.

 

Cast iron balcony with spiral stairs at St Johns Wood, London NW8 on a Grade II listed building for a private client.

Effingham Place, Surrey. Balustrade copied from the main staircase at Sir John Soanes Museum, Lincolns Inn. Photographed during installation prior to the fitting of the mahogany handrail.  

 

St. Leonard's Almshouses. 'Arts and Crafts' hammered iron gates and overthrows made up from photos of the circa 1910 original work. 

 

New Street, Spitafields. Refurbishment of circa 1750 cast and wrought iron railings using the original materials throughout. 

 

 

An original circa 1730 weaver's house at Spitalfields. The iron work designed by Chris Dyson Architects with technical input from our craftsmen.

A lantern made by our tinsmith with constant gas flame to replicate an original 18th century example.
